Conflict · GPS interference · Cyber threats · Forecasting

Open-source intelligence, built in the Red River Valley.

We build monitoring and analysis tools from publicly available information: warning on conflict, GPS jamming and spoofing, cyber threats, and forecasts that check themselves. Every product credits its sources, dates its claims and publishes its methods.

How the programs fit

Every layer of the world, read together

We collect public data from the seabed to orbit, analyze each layer against its own baseline, and publish what changed, with sources.

Tap a layer, a group or a program.

Seven layers of the operational environment, with every program placed on its home layerFrom top to bottom: systems, human, cyberspace, the electromagnetic spectrum, space, air, and land and maritime. The left column groups the layers by kind: human and information above, physical below, with cyberspace and the spectrum as the seam they share. The right column shows doctrine's grouping: the systems perspective, the information environment and the physical domains. Program tags sit on each program's home layer; selecting one shows every layer it reaches. The human, informational and physical aspects follow the Joint Concept for Operating in the Information Environment (25 July 2018). Only publicly released documents are cited. Planned programs and feeds are marked as planned, and a “working name” is not final.

Noisefloor

GPS interference worldwide: where satellite navigation is being jammed or spoofed, mapped every day from aircraft and ship position reports, and what it does to navigation and satellite links. Measures effects and states its evidence.

  • A daily map of where aircraft lost GPS, every day since 1 October 2025
  • Layers for GPS spoofing, radio noise measured from orbit, and radar emitters
  • Every object in the geostationary belt on a globe

Vigil

A threat intelligence database that records why it believes things: ransomware groups, APT groups, exploited vulnerabilities and threat indicators from public sources, with the history kept.

  • Every judgment call kept with its evidence: which two names are one group, when a group counts as dead, whether a sanction applies
  • Identity, lineage and shared tooling kept apart, so look-alike groups are never quietly merged
  • A live dashboard with no account needed; a free account adds alerts and exports
Open Vigil
Vigil's Threat Actors view as a signed-in user sees it: 4,630 tracked actors, counts of escalating, stable and declining groups, and ransomware groups ranked by victims claimed in the last seven days against the seven days before, with trend lines and status

  • Custom monitoring

A watch on the region, topic, network or supply chain you care about, built on the pipelines behind our products, with an alert when it moves off its usual level.

  • Briefings

Written or live briefings on conflict, the contested spectrum, cyber threats or space: sourced, dated, and with confidence stated.

  • Analyst training

Open-source methods, source evaluation, structured analysis and writing judgments with stated confidence, for new and working analysts.

  • Tools and consulting

Thomas Brummer

The Intelligence Company is based in Fargo-Moorhead, on the North Dakota–Minnesota border, and run by Thomas Brummer. He has served in the Air National Guard for 25 years. He started as an F-16 crew chief and an Air Force weather forecaster, and has spent more than half his career as a signals intelligence (SIGINT) analyst.

Each of those jobs asks the same thing: judge the state of a complex system under pressure, whether a jet, the weather or an adversary's network, and say how sure you are. The company's products follow the same rules: sources credited and licensed, claims dated, uncertainty stated, and methods and validation published alongside them.
